The group meets at 8:00 PM in front of the Hall of State and then mostly wanders around the entire fairgrounds. We try to think of it as a "set your own pace" night, since there are acres and acres of flat surfaces courtesy of the State Fair of Texas. The park is mostly flat, but the parking lot by the Smirnoff Music Center formerly known as Starplex is a nice hill for those who want to practice.
We ARE NOT instructors but can hang and help out. We are working to have a volunteer instructor come out once per month to offer free stopping clinics so stay tuned for more info.
Fair Park is a 277-acre National Historic Landmark with the largest public collection of 1930s Art Deco exposition style architecture in the United States. With 8 museums, it is the largest collection of cultural facilities in Dallas. It is also the location of the Texas Star, the tallest Ferris Wheel in North America and features the lushly landscaped Leonhardt Lagoon, the Esplanade with its 1,000 ft reflecting pool, the Texas Vietnam Memorial, and is currently in a $32 million Restoration Program
Easy to get to, located only two miles from Downtown Dallas and easily accessible from I-30 and I-45
This is a great event for singles, single parents, families and the like. Come on out and join the fun!
